Service - Recording historical finds in the village/work with Green Team with upkeep of grassed areas in village
I was asked by the Local History Group if I would help to record artifacts discovered by three local detectorists. All the artifacts were found in Layham. There were 60 items to photograph on three different days. Two sets were photographed at the village hall. The light was not brilliant so I took along my light box which meant I had plenty of back light and no shadows. After each session I spent time editing the images. This was the hardest part as I wanted as much detail to show as possible. This was not always easy as the items were often worn or had parts missing. The last set I was able to photograph at home. Each piece was numbered and then the name and number of the item recorded on a sheet ready for when it was exhibited, and then put into the archives. Once the editing had be completed each image was printed onto photopaper. This was a long process and couldn't be hurried.
